A NEW BREED OF MISSIONARIES

There's a new breed of missionaries being raised on the earth, transparent saints, with brave hearts, beating to the beat of their Bridegroom King Jesus, carrying their glory throughout the earth. Fearless, surrendered lovers who know boundless love, and who are ready to run to the darkest places on earth to bring back the lost, the dying, the poor and the broken. Jesus came with an unceasing love for each individual and for the multitudes. Now we need to do the same: stop for one, but believe for the multitudes.

ABOUT US

COMMUNITY

We believe that the world will know the love of the Father as we walk in love for one another (John 13:35). From this love shared by one another, we can bring light to other communities not reached by the gospel and grow in the character of Jesus while we live in the practice of all His teachings.

CALLING

We believe that each one of us has a specific calling and we cultivate a culture of encouragement, while relating to each other. Our objective is that each one finds his own flame and lives in a way that is worthy of the vocation to which he was called, so that they can experience the good, perfect and pleasant will of God.

COMMISSIONING

Our desire is to fulfill the Great Commission, as a response to Jesus' love to all the nations of the earth. To that end, we encourage and train those whose calling is to fulfill the command to go and preach the gospel of the Kingdom.

WHO WE ARE

The Iris Lisbon Mission is a Christian Organization committed to express a tangible and living response to the commandments that Jesus called the greatest: “You will love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength, and “you will love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27).


We are sent to places where “love” means taking bread to the hungry, water to the thirsty and healing the sick; it also means being a family to the orphan, bringing freedom to the captives and peace to those who are in despair. We are committed to remain sensitive, flexible and obedient to the actions of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives, from the smallest decisions to the most important ones.

OUR MISSION

We believe God wants us to raise, train and send missionaries from Portugal and Europe to the nations, fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 16-20).


We want to move with an impact among the poor and broken and work together and in unity with the Body of Christ so that everyone hears and adores Jesus.

OUR VISION

On the local level


  • To get to know the needs of the community and establish programs in education, worship, outreach, relief, development, healing and the arts. 


  • To establish a Mission Base in Lisbon, raising a community with a heart that loves God above all things and neighbor as itself. 


  • To strategize creative ways to develop projects to support the Iris Lisbon mission base and missionaries to send laborers to the nations.

On the global level


  • Support Portuguese-speaking countries, becoming a bridge to facilitate international recruitment.


  • Missionary training and support from the local church in Europe for the fulfillment of the Great Commission in unreached places.

    Current activities



    • Children's ministry: we have been able to establish relationships with the families of the Community and we meet once a week with a group of approx. 35 kids.


    • House visits: During the week we take the volunteers to the Community to visit houses and create relationships with the locals.


    • Bible study once a week.


    • Mission and evangelism Training with volunteers and missionaries.


    • Training and encouraging the local church to evangelism.


    • Worship and prayer meetings.
